South georgia state college jobs

SGSC always strived to put the student first and give them the best possible experience. The hours are very flexible for me as an instructor, and I am allowed the freedom to give my students the best possible learning experience. Campus has no excitement or spirit, except for ghosts. Some employees from the area who work there a long time deliberately exclude anybody new from conversations. They don't accept diversity and won't even attempt to do so. The students are very friendly but they don't know how to properly address faculty members. Management begs instructors to recruit new students and retain the ones that are there by making special concessions for every individual who takes classes and by expecting instructors to constantly invent new magic tricks to keep students engaged and interested. Poor communication between various departments of college; No sense of community. For instance, most students were average at best, but I did have a few gifted students. I had a nice boss but was highly discriminated for having an accent despite the fact the students liked my classes. Never saw an opportunity to change my status at the college. Pretty often was reminded the students could not understand foreign chemists, with accents!!! The area which I worked in was the Administration office. The average day consisted of me filing ,answering question for students, and sometimes taking/making phone calls. From this job I was able to learn basic filing skills along with improving my communication skills. The workplace was quite but sometimes lively and the people who work there are nice and easy to work with. The hardest part of the job was definitely the filing due to the abundance of files. Among all the enjoyable parts of the job I would have to say meeting new people. I would travel with the basdketball team and film the games. I would also sweep the gym floor before practice and games. I learn a lot about being a team player, and working together for the good of the team, the Coach is a remarkable man and he has an amazing support staff, from the Assistant Coaches to various school staff that help out in numerous ways and an awesome fan base. TRA retirement was also apart of the benefits for working at SGSC. I graded the work of the students and kept well organized records of those grades. The job wasn't that difficult but custodial work can be a bit tedious, however, this is one job that will provide help if needed. It was a great job that helped me learned skills in records keeping and statistics. I am a veteran and the Veteran Affairs staff is knowledgable and helpful but I would not consider the University to be overall Veteran Friendly. Enjoying the college life and being around different people from around the United States! The job and school are fine until you get on the bad side of Management. I recommend anyone who is very friendly, cheerful and positive to apply for this job! Workplace bullying and preferential treatment is the common management style. The environment is not as it is presented to job candidates. SGSC always strived to put the student first and give them the best possible experience.
